This was an incredible figure to me. That is a lot of electronics to send off to be properly recycled vs. landfills.
I wonder where they got this number and what the breakdown is for phones, tv, mp3, etc.
Proposed bill — 400 million electronics per year for U.S. to recycle.
Here is an example of a phone that should have been recycled.
I just can’t see how cell phones can ever really be used on planes. Is there any solution that would make it so as not to disturb other passengers?

In a time when the economy has soured, people seem to be holding onto
their wallets and savings are record highs. Due to less spending across
the board by citizens and businesses alike, local and national charities
have suffered. What can you do to help? Recycle! Donate that set of
mixing bowls or other household items that you’ve never used, or give
away that extra pair of jeans and sandals you wear only on occasion.
Give away toys that your children won’t miss or the holiday items taking
up space in your attic. You will feel good about contributing and the
extra space! Charities will be glad for your recycling efforts and it
will cost you nothing but a little bit of time and thought.
